Le Château de La Seigne

"There are B&Bs you stay in that feel very corporate and then there are places like this one. It is family owned and operated, and the owners make you feel like family while you are there. They and their two daughters were happy to show you the property they renovated during Covid and worked so hard to turn into a beautiful little part of France. The location is convenient to Carcassonne and there are dining options there. This is located in the country so you'll need to travel into the city to eat. Breakfast here was very good (one of the best we had while traveling around France, Italy and Switzerland). I truly hope you try this place as the owners are really great people..."

"Brilliant welcome Mikael’s recommendation for Steph and Coco restaurant superb; booking essential though! Facilities such as small swimming pool and well-stocked honesty bar (3€ a helping). Excellent breakfast. Small criticism; shower screen rather than curtains that cling would be preferred."

"One of the best hotels I have stayed at. In beautiful surroundings with a rustic charm but with fantastic modern rooms. The staff were amazing, couldn't do enough for you and were bilingual, which was a big help for me. Effortlessly conversing in English and German. The bed was comfy, the shower amazing and the TV a nice big size. The restaurant was fabulous and every meal I had there was delicious. I loved the outside areas too, either cooling off in the pool, reading a book in the tranquil gardens or having a coffee next to the river. The perfect stay!"

"Lovely shabby chic style hotel with lots of upcycled features within a renovated collection of buildings around a central courtyard. Attentive welcome from the owner and lots of nice touches, such as the gifting of a delicious homemade chocolate dessert on our final night. Makes a pleasant change from overly commercialised and formulaic hotels, where you are just part of a pipeline of guests - this feels more like staying with family or friends. Highly recommended"
