"I decided to stay for 22 days in New Delhi because I wanted to visit all of the museums and historical sites and to just kind of "live" in the city for a while. I am a retired teacher still learning about the world. I stayed at one hotel for 7 days in Karol Bagh and then decided to stay at this hotel because they had a very friendly hotel guard sitting outside the front door whom I passed by frequently. He looked like a good guy, so I stayed at his hotel. And he was a good guy; he would answer my questions and help me when I needed things - he was a real asset to the property. I'm giving the property a good review because of him. God bless the guy. May he be happy forever.
My only caveats - I had trouble finding my first hotel in this hotel zone of Karol Bagh (maybe I had a bad e-rickshaw driver). This is a clean and upscale hotel in Karol Bagh, which is not very clean and where you will be bothered by e-rickshaw guys a lot to take rides with them. There are acceptable restaurants to eat at. No nightlife (one "club" gave me a teeny amount of scotch and filled the glass with plastic bottled water).
The Ramakrishna Ashram Blue Line Metro is close by. Tickets are super inexpensive, but there are long lines (and people cutting in). Buy a 3-Day Tourist card for 500 rupees if you can, but sometimes the Customer Care booth operator will tell you they don't have them. Sometimes a booth guy will make a phone call and someone will bring one to him. Good luck in New Delhi."
