Waves Hotel NYE Beach - Newport OR

"The room was as it appeared online. It was clean, spacious and well furnished for 2 people. The beds and bedding were exceptionally comfortable. The shower was hot both days. The issues to note are that the room is advertised as being wheelchair accessible and there is no elevator. It is stair access only and on the third floor. There was no water in the Keurig machine to make coffee. And there were no parking spots available in the lot. We parked on the street in front of the building which was ok because it's not a busy street, but that should be communicated to travelers. The freezer in the mini fridge was frosted over and the fridge was cool but not cold. We didn't use the pool or have breakfast on site."

"My room was clean, staff was very sweet and helpful. Breakfast was really good, may need another waffle iron, the line was long, but so worth the wait! I am gluten free, so I bring my own batter. OMG I wish my waffle iron made my waffles this good! One super important thing to me is safety. I felt very safe here. The lobby is separate from the hotel. You have to use your room card to access the building. No elevator which for me is just fine. Nice hot shower! In room coffee maker. The powder creamer was nasty, but the coffee for breakfast was wonderful. Next time I will bring some half and half for in room coffee."

"Open your back door and be on the beach! Beds were comfortable. Quiet; we did not hear other guests, even though people were staying. Thank goodness for in-room coffee since the coffee places nearby opened at 8 or 9 and we were still on central time body clock. Went to check out and they had donuts for us and liquid coffee creamer for that 3rd cup I drank in the office. Loved it!"

"Great location but little beach access close by. King bed was comfortable. Room and building out dated and had some carpet coming up, not great shower but for the price it wasn't bad. Close to hear places to eat in walking distance."
