Business Trip

Location of the hotel was good. The bad experience at the time of check-in as they insist for advance payment of entire amount unlike other hotels of same category. Also this practice was not there when it was run under name of Park Plaza. Very unprofessional attitude at least with regular visitor.

We were stopping at Chandigarh, en route from Delhi to Simla. Delightful experience, after some hotels in Jaipur and Delhi.

Overall a nice stay @ Chandigarh

The Hotel is located at the central place @ Sector 17, undoubtably a premium locality. The hotel has a nice swimming pool and a nice big coffee shop, which can host a large crowd. However, we have a difficulty in checking in as the information were not plugged properly for our accommodation. We mentioned about certain services , which was provided very late and after a few reminders. However, the coffee shop stewards are courteous and helpful. The Hotel doesn't have a basement parking, which has left the car in the parking area very hot in summer. If we can overlook /ignore the service issues a bit the overall rating can be a 4 star experience.

This Hotel is in Decline. Very Disappointing.

I have stayed at this hotel for years. The ownership changed (recently, apparently). The hotel service has gone way down. The staff is unfriendly, and the room service people are below standard. Only the duty manager seemed competent. It used to be a Park Plaza, and then the standard was high and the staff were professional. The only thing left that is good about the hotel is the rooms (left from before) and the location. There are many other options nearby that are the same price or less, which I would recommend above this one. I will not stay here again.

It's location is the best. All the tourist visiting places are within 2.5 km. I didn't like the food in the hotel . Rooms are good.

Good Hotel in the Heart of Chandigarh

I have stayed in this property before, and at that time it was called the Park Plaza, under Club Carlson Group. I found the hotel to be quite good. The breakfast spread was limited but nice. Also I know of people who had not opted for the breakfast option while booking, but had breakfast and no one asked them anything and neither were they charged, while checking out. So, I feel a bit put off when I paid extra for such a free fare. The internet of the hotel needs a major revamp. It is very very SLOW & non responsive. Most of the sites I tried to open ( for my work and personal ) were getting timed out. Thanks Sujoy

Best luxury hotel to stay in Chandigarh!

I would highly recommend staying in James Hotel in Chandigarh on your visit there. It is located in Sector 17 which is a hip area with shopping and businesses. Centrally located for any adventure you partake on. The hotel is newly renovated, extremely clean with impressive accommodation in all aspects, from the service at the front desk to the cleanliness of the room. Especially for the price I paid, I was very impressed. I would rate it a 4 star hotel in American standards. It is also very safe with security in the front 24/7 and a bar downstairs in case you don't want to go far for a drink. I did not get to try their restaurants but the food did look delicious.

4-star hotel - Slightly disappointing.

Okay. This is a 4-star hotel and then entrance and lobby area are fantastic. The reception staff are functional but not overly friendly. A glance over to the dining area and it is wonderful with a vast array of options at breakfast. The room on first impressions looked traditional but relatively clean. The bed was comfortable. However, the bathroom was a complete disaster with the shower room flooding and the staff seemed unconcerned when I reported this at check-out. Also the iron was broken and unusable alongside the smallest ironing board in existence. It's a shame really as overall it has a nice feel but in terms of value it does not succeed. The local area is a mix of gardens and museums coupled with great 1970s style underdeveloped estates. Fortunately, I like all that and the locals are brilliant and a pleasure to meet. Don't be put off by making a trip to the Down Under bar. Just remember your GPS...
