"We recently stayed at The Experience in Chiang Mai and found our stay to be overall okay, but with a few frustrations. The breakfast was decent—you’re able to choose one main item from a menu, with additional fruit and toast available buffet-style afterward.
One issue we had was with our room. The original room we booked did not have a window, which was not ideal. Although there were upgraded rooms available (and the hotel seemed quite empty), we were still charged an additional 1000 baht to switch. This felt disappointing, especially considering how important something as basic as a window is for comfort.
We also booked an elephant tour through the hotel, so we were surprised there wasn’t any flexibility or goodwill gesture when it came to the room upgrade, given we were spending extra money with them.
Overall, the stay was fine, but a bit more flexibility and customer consideration would have gone a long way in improving our experience."
