The property is certainly eclecticly decorated with what I am sure is an interesting history. The owners and staff - likely family or relatives - are enthusiastic and clearly customer focused. The restaurant is clearly the one favoured by all the friendly locals, always a great sign. It can handle 50 tables or so - not obvious at first - and there were always at least several locals catching up with each other for morning coffee or lunch, getting breakfast, or workers from nearby projects stopping in for their regular. The food was basic, hearty and very good - both traditional Canadian and Asian. The room we had - suite- was functional, very very spacious ( bigger than many apartments I've owned) and well looked after. You will not be romancing your anniversary date here but as a base for an week or more in the area snowmobiling, working, or exploring or as an over night stay passing through, a great choice.

It was awful I feel like we got ripped off the rooms were disgusting and everything was stained holes in the walls. It was the worst possible place I have ever stayed at with my family. They should be embarrassed to be running a place like that and charging a good dollar for it.

I would like to write a better review for the Executive Suites because the staff were friendly and professional. However, the property is dingy, dated and not acceptable at the price point. The A/C worked but was not installed well so the main bedroom was full of moths. For similar cost, there are other motels in Chapleau that are very clean, centrally located and nicely updated. This motel needs to upgrade or drop its price!

The room was exceptionally clean . Nothing fancy but the small kitchen would make it easy to keep and cook food. The bedrooms very basic but very clean . Sitting area was good. All the staff where very personal able, the locals were very fond of the staff and pleasant to all . Chapleau in general was our favorite stop on our tour of the north. Only stayed one night but would definitely come back . Thank you for sharing your beautiful town with us.

Not great, first room looked like it was either in redo mode or in use, 2nd room was not much better. Door would not stay closed unless bolted, very few dishes, no toilet paper other than the 1/4 roll in the bathroom. Terrible furniture & TV. This is very basic accommodation at a premium price in my opinion. It was ok clean wise & staff was friendly, but that's about it. Not much to choose from in Chapleau, but I would not go back.

Bare bones facility at best. Definitely not something you want to consider if you want a relaxing stay because the "room" was up/down a step with the bathroom and the bedroom in the upper floor (a lot of steps) and the living room downstairs. There is nothing "executive" about this property except for their adherence to no-money back for reservations. The owner did offer us a chance to stay at another one of his properties, but that one was much smaller and it had a common shared bathroom in the hallway. We had to find another motel in town because my wife has accessibility issues and there is not way she would be able to navigate the steps.

The main floor had a living room, well equipped kitchen with new appliances. Upstairs had 2 bedrooms and a full bath. Complimentary toiletries were in both bedrooms plus the bathroom. Though the facility is older, it was clean, freshly painted throughout with beautiful carpet upstairs. Plenty of room for your sledding gear to brought inside. Restaurant right on premises so you don’t have to cook if you don’t want to.
