"Block out blinds didn't completely fit windows, so light streamed in at each end. Toothpaste on sink, no shower gel or shampoo in containers. Terrible smell coming from bathroom, the sink was blocked. Did not report at the time due to having to be at the hospital until very late, but reported at check out, was told that a note will be left for housekeeping. We would not stay again"

"The property is in a good location and the rooms were comfortable. We had a few small issues and chatted to reception and these were rectified very quickly. The only issue I found was the limited communication regarding the current building works on site which resulted in the impact on onsite parking and road changes based on Main roads works around the location. Would certainly stay again."

"The stay got off to a very poor start. The advertisement instructed guests to contact the property to receive a door access code. When I called in the afternoon, the property manager was extremely rude. Even after I explained the reason for my call, I was repeatedly questioned as if I didn’t understand the instructions. The beds and pillows were very uncomfortable and appear old and worn, with little care or maintenance. There is also a serious maintenance issue in the upstairs bathroom, with water leaking through the architrave. There is visible mould and rot, with pieces falling onto the floor. To make matters worse, there were cockroaches upstairs as soon as we turned the lights off in the evening. Parking is also a major issue. The driveway is very narrow, barely allowing one car in. The garage is extremely small — larger vehicles like a van or ute would struggle to fit. There is also no reliable street parking, as surrounding apartments take up most of the available space. Overall, I would not recommend staying here. I suggest looking elsewhere."

"Room was tidy and as clean as could be considering it's not a modern motel, Staff very helpful and friendly. Just a 5 minute easy walk to major shopping centre. Loved the balcony at the back of my room overlooking the natural bush. Very quiet location. Aircon worked well and was quiet. Also loved I could open windows for fresh air which many modern rooms don't offer. Overall a very good experience, I will stay again."

"The room was comfortable and very clean. The kitchen was well equipped with microwave, jug, toaster crockery and cutlery. The position suited me as it was an easy walk to the shopping centre. "

"Solid choice in the south Newcastle area. Rooms were older but well maintained - sort of classic Route 66 motel era, or in other words, charming. Good television channel selection, plenty of hot water, and biscuits (cookies) included with the tea and coffee items, along with a small carton of milk, which I just love. Easy parking right in front of the room. Next door to a 7-Eleven with a Subway and an Oporto, but I recommend a visit to the attached pub for a full-on Aussie experience."

"Stayed here 2 nights. Booked because of the round bath and was not disappointed by the whole experience. The room was clean, staff were great and the room was nice and quiet and though the pub was right next door. It's great that you can go for breakfast right next door too. We chose to have dinner in the pub on the Saturday night and it was fantastic too. Will definitely recommend ANC stay again. "
