Very nice welcome. The lady organised our bus pickup for the next day. Her restaurant suggestion was excellent. The upstairs bar with the self-service and the pool table are a real treat.

I stayed one night in Murray Guesthouse while passing through Chau Doc. The owner was kind and helpful. My room was clean and well kept. A bargain for the price. Highly recommend.

Dirty guesthouse
Very small reception,did not have enough light , very dark Our room was on 1rst floor , We can’t contact a “ receptionist “ from a phone in the room . Bottle of shower gel was empty,the safety box is out of work .When We flipped the quilt ,the sheet was full of black marks. We went to find another hotel right after that . Extremely dirty guesthouse.

Small guesthouse with friendly service .
Comfortable beds ,clean ,good breakfast. AC in the rooms but not in the common areas so there it was really warm . They have bicycles to borrow,but the traffic is pretty crazy.It was good for a night . The hosts are very friendly and helpful. Mr Murray gives a lot of information.

The guesthouse is immaculate, very good mattress, excellent shower and helpful staff. Our inward journey was booked for us very efficiently. Convenient location. Substantial breakfast and good bar facilities.

Stayed here one night. Had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. The facilities are modern and clean and the staff is extremely friendly and courteous. Right off the main street. They dont upcharge on any tours. Wayne is GREAT!

Comfortable bed, good breakfast and the hotel booked our bus to Hatien and everything went smoothly. We weren’t expecting that our window was overlooking the lobby. This should be mentioned in the room listing

We appreciate the comments of guests and take those comments into consideration in keeping the Murray a quiet haven for travellers . The choice of rooms is listed with the booking agent with the possibility of an upgrade from a large standard room with internal window overlooking the green-space orchids to a deluxe room with external window possible, if available, on request with reception.

Good enough for a night.
Comfortable, affordable and clean accommodation. The food options were awful in Châu Doc though I felt. When I mentioned we’d be visiting Can Tho, the owner mentioned to drive straight through and get us to look at other tours that he preferred. We loved our time in Can Tho and glad we kept to our plans.

Its good to receive feedback from our guests regarding the Murray and options in the city. The accommodation team attempts to provide insight on local options which eventually may, or may not, be compatible with our guests preferences. In the case of comments on Can Tho, 'the owner' was merely expressing the differences between Chau Doc, a rural city of 16,000 folk and Can Tho a busy metropolis with over 1.5 million and the differences in places of interest between them. The team in the Murray is very happy that the guests enjoyed their time further down the Delta.

Great spot. Friendly owner and his wife were there always to help out. Easy walk to good restaurants and downtown. Great condition bikes to use to peddle the countryside. Great breakfast.

We only had 2 nights but would have been happy to stay longer! Murray is a wealth of knowledge of the area and extremely helpful. We enjoyed the breakfasts and had a very comfortable room. The use of the free bicycles, which were in excellent condition, enabled us to see some of the local highlights. The roof top terrace is a great place for a cold drink in the evening! We highly recommend Murray's Guesthouse and will definitely stay there again on our next visit to southern Vietnam.

Close walk to the River & food. This was one of the most comfortable beds we slept on in 5 weeks traveling SE Asia. The owner created us when we arrived & the staff was very helpful. They called & set up our FUTA bus trip. If possible don't stay in the room next to the stairs & dining area. It's very loud in the morning.

Nice stay, just what we needed
Good location in chau doc near the port, getting the boat to Phnom Penh was the reason we came to chau doc. The hotel sorted our boat reservations, changed our Vietnamese money to USD needed for Cambodia, and were generally very friendly and welcoming. Also a good pool table and bar for guests!

Charming guesthouse with the best Pho in Vietnam
The Murray Guesthouse was the perfect location for our stay in Chao Doc. We were there 2 nights and enjoyed the comfortable rooms and convenient location. We walked down to the riverfront park and took a boat tour of the floating fish farms and Cham Villiage which was a highlight of our stay. We enjoyed the food at the guesthouse very much. We had wonderful food downtown as well. Murray's homemade breakfast sausages were so tasty and his wife made the best Pho of my trip. Murray was delightful to talk to, he has such a nice family and friendly staff. If you are going to Chao Doc and want a clean, comfortable, secure place to stay for a very reasonable price I highly recommend The Murray Guesthouse.

Free bikes, nice, friendly place
Loved the free bike hire and recommended bike routes! The family that owns the place if very kind and friendly and was very helpful in booking our onward travel. Highly recommend this place. Only downside is you need to walk a little to get food the recommend.

Stay here. It’s great!
The staff are very helpful as soon as you arrive with local information and ensuring your comfort. Restaurants, stalls, shops ATM, ferry to Cambodia are all within walking distance. Rooms are clean and welcoming. Beds are comfortable. Hot shower with great water pressure. Breakfast is wonderful with options including delicious home made sausages, fresh bread fruit. Hosts were wonderful! They kindly organised our onward journey and provided us with detailed information about where to go, what to do and also general information which proved to be invaluable. Stay a while for the best experience.

Very clean and comfortable
Chau Doc is a vibrant city that’s small enough to be manageable but has plenty to offer. We took a boat tour on the river, went to a bird sanctuary, visited Buddhist temples and shrines, and ate amazing food. Murray Guesthouse is very nice- a little oasis of western comfort in the middle of the continuous buzz of Vietnamese culture. Check out the roof top patio with a great view of the city. Breakfast overlooking the street is a great way to start the day. Wayne and Tencan (spelling?) are gracious hosts always around to answer questions and tell you about the region.

Captain Murray and his wife catered to all our needs. He is a great source of information on Vietnam and helped us with our travel plans. The hotel is spotless and very comfortable.

Perfect little stopping place to cross Mekong
Wayne and wife look personally after their place. They ensure complete customer satisfaction and are very helpful with the details of border crossing. The rooms are ample and there is a nice lounge with a pool table on the second floor. They also have bikes for free to go around town. Highly recommended.

Was met by friendly staff, then owner came and met us providing lots of tips to make the most of our short stay. We did them all. Walked, drank and ate frog!!. Would stay again if chance ever came up.

This is probably the best hotel we stayed at during our month in Vietnam. The staff is very helpful and kind, the hotel is clean and has a great bar and rooftop garden, breakfast is great. Can't recommend this place enough.

Great two night stay. Big room, comfy bed, a light over the mirror in the bathroom was really good as it allowed us to see to do shaving and makeup, breakfast some and good. Good location and free use of bikes. Really helpful in booking boat to PP and emailing info on bus. Lucky to be there on day of ox racing which owner very kindly took us to - fabulous. Thanks so much.

Murray and his family run this comfortable and friendly guesthouse that is well located in Chau Doc, Viet Nam. We arrived late in the afternoon after travelling down the Mekong from Phnom Penh. The rooftop garden is great for a cold beer and to get your bearings on this gorgeous place. We enjoyed the personal service and hearing about Murrays travels and how he came to be in Chau Doc. We would highly recommend a stay here. Thank you Murray and family.

Staying at the Murray was a great experience. This hotel was built by someone who has traveled a lot and knows what people want to see in a hotel. The rooms are very nice, clean and comfortable. The staff is great they were extremely helpful even before we arrived with prompt email replies the service was even better once we arrived. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Modern, comfortable hotel with great breakfast
Town is noisy, too many honking motorcycles, but free well-maintained bikes allowed us to explore the amazing peaceful countryside, via ferries as well. Wayne (owner) is great conversationalist, made stay a joy. Sitting on waterfront watching bustling river was also fun. Spacious, quiet modern room at a reasonable price. Breakfast was great with homemade sausage, choice of eggs, tasty coffee.

after a 7 hour bus trip from saigon what a fantastic place to stay.met murray straight away and wished we were staying more than 1 night but had the ferry booked to cambodia. how many B and Bs rely on the honesty of its guests to serve themselves at the bar and leave your room number to pay when you checkout. stay here and help out the smaller places. will be staying here again next time we are in mekong area.

Excellent séjour ! Le propriétaire néo-zélandais de la guest house est vraiment sympathique, tout comme le personnel qui s’est chargé de la réservation de nos billets de ferry. Si vous passez à Chau Doc, arrêtez vous dans ce super endroit pour la nuit !
