"The rooms were clean and spacious. Older appliances and fixtures. The AC and heat situation is not great if you go the time of year where the days are warm and the nights are cooler. There is either heat on in the whole hotel or A/C. Not both. You have to work with what you got."

"Incredibly friendly staff from the moment we walked through the door and every interaction afterwards. We were complimentary upgraded to a room that felt like an apartment. Very spacious and comfy. The location was walking distance to a Metro station as well as grocery stores. I would stay there again no matter what area of the District we would explore "

Restaurant has good food and wonderful staff but is a little slow if you are looking for night life. Great for cozy dinner and wine night, lovely patio and everything in hotel was very clean."

"The front desk staff was very helpful during the check in process and changing of rooms. To no fault of theirs, we had to change rooms and I ended up in an hypoallergenic room which was perfect for me. Room was clean and had the most wonderful view. Room service was great."

"Honestly, for the difference in price compared to the Washington Hilton (that was right across the street and where my conference was taking place), I'm not sure why anyone wouldn't pick this place. Only downsides were slow wifi (just barely above 1 Mbps on average!), one of the two elevators out of order during my stay(yet never really waited long to catch it), and the restaurant/bar not functional one night (wife having a baby, I heard....that's more important!), and nasty road construction going on (not the hotel's fault), I really enjoyed my stay. Very quiet and nostalgic, and in a great location. I will be back if ever coming back to the area! Great value. Friendly staff!"
