"We had reason to request to move room and the staff were very accommodating and looked after us well - top marks for that. The evening dinner (pie of the day) was actually unexpectedly excellent and the accompanying veggies were nice and crisp - very enjoyable. The only minor quibble was that due to TV mounting it was next to impossible to get a HDMI stick plugged in (something maybe to check into). Anyhow, all in all, nicely situated and a nice place to stay at and all the staff we encountered...

"Loved this place. The setting is beautiful as was our room. A real mixture of old and new that worked perfectly. The staff were really friendly and attentive and we truly felt welcome. We opted for the pie for dinner and I can honestly say, it was the best pie I have ever eaten. The pastry was amazing and it was filled to the max with the ham and leek. "Stayed here in February. Check-in was quiet, staff are friendly and helpful. Our room was number 5 and was beautiful with modern equipment. It nice and warm in our room throughout our stay. No need to go out, just get parked and have your evening meal in the pub/restaurant, I can recommend the fish & chips. If you are looking for accommodation in this area, I would definitely recommend Pack Horse. "

"Staff were excellent. Food very good. Appreciated group of 10 having separate area for meals. Not keen on the bath in the bedroom, nowhere reachable to put soap or shampoo. No washbasin in the toilet. Would be better to make shower room with toilet. Bath not easy to get in and out."

It’s extremely dated, the heating was an old electric heater and didn’t really heat the room well, I was freezing and had to put layers on for bed because the duvet was very thin too.
