The Pilsley Inn is the quintessential English country side experience. The room was thoughtfully appointed and way bigger than expected. Cozy bed, nice linens and thoughtful touches everywhere. The staff were delightful, each and every one of them. And the food…omg, the food! So good! We wish we booked more than one night!

My family and I really enjoyed staying at The Pilsley Inn. A very curated hotel in an amazing setting. The whole family loved it and is really raccomended.

The inn was conveniently located near Chesterfield train station and within walking distance of the Chatsworth House. We ended up eating at there two nights in a row! The breakfast was also beyond expectations. Bed was very comfortable and the room was great.

I am so happy we stayed at the Pilsley Inn. It is located in a lovely little village just outside of Chatsworth House. I felt like I had stepped back in time. We only stayed one night as our itinerary was very full, but I would definitely recommend this Inn. the people were friendly, and it was a perfect stay for my English holiday!

This was hands down the friendliest hotel we have ever stayed in. The staff was extremely kind, helpful, and cheery. They made us feel at home and went above and beyond to accommodate us. The wait staff was exceptional as well. The food was excellent, the setting idyllic, and location walkable to The Chatsworth House! We could not wait to write a glowing review as we cannot recommend this hotel enough! We suggest you give your entire staff a raise as they were top notch and whoever hired them should be given a medal:)

The room was very nice four poster bed water in room free biscuits nice and clean bathroom breakfast excellent dinner even better wine was all very good just a great place to stay a big thank you to all of the staff

We had a wonderful stay at the Pilsley Inn. The breakfast was excellent, with high-quality food and a great variety to start the day. The surroundings are absolutely beautiful, and the setting is both charming and ideally located for visiting Chatsworth House. Staying on the estate provided added benefits for access to Chatsworth, which enhanced the overall experience. What truly stood out, however, was the staff, especially Emma. They were exceptionally helpful, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure every aspect of our stay was enjoyable. Thoughtful touches, such as the option to have fresh flowers in the room, made the experience feel even more special. We would highly recommend staying here and would gladly return.

We traveled all the way from the United States for a very special occasion — our daughter's engagement at Chatsworth House — and The Pilsley Inn made the trip even more memorable. What a find! The rooms were spacious, beautifully charming, and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was lovely too, a great way to start each morning. But what really won us over was the location: just a short distance from Chatsworth Estate, which was essential for us since we don't drive in the UK. We actually spent our first few nights at The Cavendish Hotel on the estate itself, which came with high expectations — but honestly, The Pilsley Inn impressed us more, and at a better price point. It had warmth and character that felt genuinely special rather than just luxurious. We've already decided that Chatsworth will become a regular travel destination for our family, and The Pilsley Inn will absolutely be our home base every time. Highly recommend to any Americans visiting this stunning part of the English countryside!
