Pearl on the Concho
4/10 Poor
"If you have kids & plan on staying there, it’s good. Lots of things to do inside for cheap.
If you’re looking for a nice hotel in San Angelo for a couples’ weekend getaway, this is NOT it. TV was in/out of service both nights we were there. It’s very outdated, yet, they have top dollar pricing… 15-20, 30-gallon trash bags were left around a tree by staff, & was there the entire weekend. Teens-young adults were walking around cars after dark, so it was hard to fall asleep thinking my car would get broken into.
Overall, I’d give it a 2 of out 5. Only thing that was good about it was the restaurant. Pizza wasn’t bad, & my waitress/bartender was good! My wife wasn’t too impressed by the stay. For the same $300 for 2 night stay, I can get a nicer room in DFW."

"The hotel is clean, and the attendants are friendly. The breakfast was good and the attendant was very helpful, but breakfast is from 6:00 am to 9:00 am. Seemed to finish earlier than most places.
On the other hand, the rooms have rock hard beds, the bathtub that has a high tub wall that is not easy to get in and out of to take a shower. The shower waterpower itself feels as if you are bathing with a power washer. I had to protect my head with my hands as the water has too much power. In addition, the counter space in the restroom on the side of the sink is about 8 inches wide so you cannot set things down when bathing. No luggage rack in room. If you need more towels, the front desk attendant said I had to bring my dirty towels down to replace them with new ones as they do not have enough towels because some customers pile up towels and then they run out of towels for other guests. As it rained, we had to park at a parking space a distance away from the hotel because roofers repairing roof were throwing nails in front of building. At checkout time, 11:00 am, an elevator maintenance person was fixing their only elevator in the entire building, and we could not go check-out. When I asked him why he chose to fix it at check-out time, he replied that most people check-out at 9:00 am and he had nothing to do so he came to work on the elevator. He decided to put the elevator back together so we could ride down with our luggage. This was not a comfortable or convenient stay."

Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham San Angelo
6/10 Okay
"Clean hotel and friendly staff. Plenty of towels, comfy beds, good enough breakfast (continental)
However, I've stayed in many microtel hotels, and this room (double queen) was just much much smaller than Ive seen. There were no mirrors over the headboard. Just wall with weird circles of wood covering screws. There were no dresser drawers or closet to hang or store my clothes. No coffee maker in the room. No pool. No snack vending machine, only a soda machine. Basic cable with no option for netflix, apps, or even phone mirroring. Tiny desk, tiny bathroom. Tiny everything. I think the worst of it was just that I had nowhere to put my stuff or clothes; it all had to stay in my suitcase. But it was at least really clean and not sketchy at all. Definitely could have been worse, but I probably would not stay here again"
