Late Autumn Break

Excellent few days, very friendly staff and ideal location to visit the Naze, Old Harwich and friends in Walton.

Little bit of class in Clacton

Really lovely place the staff were great I couldn’t fault it 10/10 for everything food was delicious fantastic atmosphere all around will definitely be my go to place in the future when I’m in the area .

First visit.

First time at the Rose and Crown, and we were very impressed! Very friendly staff, nice clean room. A nice pub, that also sold good food. We would be very happy to return.

Top notch

Lovely, friendly, welcoming staff and bar area. Room was exceptional, clean tidy well thought out with an added bonus if a kitchen area. Bed ver comfortable, shower great. Food choice covered various options, good portions and tasty. Prices for beer and wine were very good. Totally enjoyed our stay and would recommend anyone to stay.

Had an amazing stay! Room was fantastic! So no what we was expecting, we only booked last minute over the bank holiday weekend as we had a funeral nearby. Everything about the room was excellent, clean, modern, gorgeous shower. We ate in the pub restaurant, the food was superb. Breakfast was excellent! So much choice. The staff were so welcoming and friendly Highly recommend this place to stay or just eat and drink. Thank you!

Staff lovely, breakfast was ok didn’t like sausages but that personal preference. The room very disappointing even though very clean it was small I was feeling very claustrophobic two single beds put together just felt so cramped in Room 1…, when having a shower , shower head kept sliding down the pole that was annoying , pillows too flat , no air con but did provide a fan which sorry was useless, for the price very disappointed in room . Only stayed one night if I had booked for longer I would coped in Room 1.,,

Great place apart from room 1

Stayed here several times for work and normally really good, but this time i was put in room 1 which is very small. I requested a double bed but all they had done was push 2 singles together but the mattresses didnt even level up plus the sheet didnt fit. Not a nice room altogther. On the plus side staff all really friendly and food and drink very good and reasonably priced. I will stay again but ask not to be in room1

The room was a decent size and good pressure in the shower that is always good. At in the restaurant in the evening that was convenient. Sadly missed my breakfast as it isn’t Served until 9am and was too late for myself as I had to get to work. Parking is limited, but can park on the main road but it is very busy at times.

I’ve just returned from this lovely place . Lovely staff and so friendly. Thanks Debbie Room was clean and spotless me and my nephew ate at the restaurant and must say what lovely food Plenty to choose from Danielle was serving and what a lovely person she is to. Also, there’s a beer garden which had the lovely weather for it to sit in. Definitely recommend this place if your local to Thorpe le soken And definitely would return if need be. Thankyou Malcolm b

A small but well presented double room

A clean and well presented double room, a little on the small side and would have benefitted from desk/dressing table. There is a busy road outside, which may both some people. I would certainly be happy to stay there again.

Lovely clean room and bathroom but quite a lot of road noise if you want the window open at the front. Food was delicious.

Very friendly staff, great value for money, lovely

Great place to stay but you need a car to go to nearby places of interest. Due to "covid" the management have used what used to be the car park in front of the Pub with outside seating leaving only space for 1 car. There is however no parking restrictions along the section of road it is in. It only has 4 rooms and we got room number 4, it has obviously been recently refurbished and was very nice. Had a decent size toilet/ sink / shower room. not a problem for us but if you can not climb stairs to the first floor do not book a room here. All 4 rooms are upstairs. Booked thro hotels.com and breakfast was also included in the price, that was also very nice with as much tea / coffee / orange juice, a selection of cereal and various cooked which included full English 5/5 from us.

The food and room were good. Unfortunately there is now only one parking space, where there used to be four, so we had to park on the busy public road.

A stay that exceeded all expectations!

This is a really nice pub and hotel, received a really warm welcome and shown to our room, which whilst located at the top of a couple of flights of stairs, was well worth the climb! A beautifully decorated family room with kitchenette. Clean, tidy and well furnished. Comfortable bed. We decided to eat in the pub and both chose the roast as it was Sunday. Food was amazing and there was a lovely atmosphere in the pub itself. Breakfast the following morning was also wonderful, as late risers we were delighted to hear that breakfast was served all morning and there was no rush to avoid missing it! Again the food was amazing, cooked to order and tasted great. I would definitely stay here again.
