"The hotel room was excellent. Situated right in the middle of Clarens you can walk everywhere from the hotel. Rooms overlooking the village green can be a little noisey but not overly so and rooms overlooking the mountains are quieter. Room very nicely decorated and contained four poster bed and fireplace, high end spec air conditioning, hair dryer, shower all much appreciated. Caring staff and good service including laundry facility. Restaurant Vito's is underneath and serves good Italian food...

"We had a 1 night stay over at the Golden Gate hotel. We initially thought we booked at the hotel but was surprised that we had booked a chalet. The chalet was perfect with its own braai (BBQ) outside and all the amenities required for a proper self catering experience. Would definitely stay there again as it about a 15 minute scenic drive to Clarens."

Set in a magnificently scenic South African Natural Heritage site. Varied activities are available--we did a challenging 4x4 trail, a hiking trail, and a game drive among the biggest herds I have set eyes on."

"SO charming! Even better than it looks in the pictures. Really enjoyed our stay here with our little one -- she loved the flowers and the animals, and the suite we stayed in had a fantastic covered porch. Would definitely go back for a longer stay."
