"Heating in the initial room was not able to be turned on. No equivalent room was available. I was told I would have to pay for an upgrade or stay in a freezing cold room. "Hotel is directly opposite where you check in, which is The George pub. No staff being readily available in the building was a little inconvenient as we had a few confusing moments with the room temperature and couldn’t change it. Also, tv remote was broken so was difficult to navigate using it, but having no main reception in the building meant you couldn’t just pop and get a replacement! But it was very clean, large wet room and not too much trouble to navigate once inside. Would stay again,...

After a busy week in London, the beautiful surrounds, fresh air and peace of Wivenhoe House were just perfection. "Place very dated, should be classed as a Motel, very basic, room cleaned and towels changed once in 7 days, had to change rooms after the 1st day, as electrical heater not operating and kettle faulty, unable to open curtains as viewed by car park."
