"After reading others reviews I was nervous about my selection for a 3 night stay. Before I write my review, I will not be comparing it to a Marriott or other high end Hotels. So many reviews I read compared the two. They cannot be compared. A few things to ask yourself:
1. How much time are you spending in the room?
2. How much money do you want to save or spend?
3. How picky are you with the fine details?
After you answer those questions, if you are spending all day and night in the room, this is not for you. If you like to save money, it will be a good choice, but if willing to spend more, then go hotel. If you're picky, then go to a hotel.
I stayed 3 nights in July. Spent only our nights there, wanted something within budget, and we're not picky people, so this was our choice.
Now the review: Motel was larger than expected with ample parking. It's in a safe area with lots to see and do in the area. A 5 min walk to downtown Golden, containing lots of shops and restaurants. The outside esthetics is old-school with browns and yellows and could use updating. The room, also old-school, but had two beds, tv, air, fridge, coffee maker, and microwave. Room was very clean and shower was hot with lots of pressure. Bed and pillows were comfy. Outdoor pool was closed (no big deal for us). Staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating.
Overall, our experience was good and would recommend staying here as long as your not expecting presidential treatment."
