The hotel needs extensive maintenance. Walls are heavily scuffed and marked on all hallways and surfaces. Drywall is peeling in the hallways and in our room. Carpets need to be cleaned. The room itself wasn't perfectly clean (carpets needed to be vacuumed and cleaned), but the beds and bathrooms were clean, but you didn't walk around without shoes.
When we arrived, the young man at the desk was polite and friendly. Check in was quick and uneventful; however, we had reserved a room with two queens as there were three of us ladies including my elderly mother. When we got to our room, it was a room with a king bed and a couch. The front desk told us that it was okay because the couch was a pullout couch. When I came back down and asked to cancel in order to find a hotel that could meet our needs, he rearranged some other rooms to get us back into a double queen.
Again, the young man at the desk was polite and trying to be accommodating, but this situation of changing our reservation without notifying us until we opened the room door combined with the condition of the hotel was not a positive experience.
