We had a relaxing spring break vacation in Corpus Christi. The area offers many beautiful beaches where you can drive along the shore or take a peaceful walk. The highlight for my son was our visit to the USS Lexington, which he absolutely loved.

Padre Island Burger company has delicious burgers. Landry's Seafood House offers great service, a beautiful view and delectable food. Mustang State Park is close by and offers spots for relaxation and there are various birds to see.

Corpus Christi is both a tourist destination AND and area of heavy industry. As you travel north on I-37 towards San Antonio, you pass miles of oil refineries. The bayfront area from downtown several miles has beautiful homes.

Corpus is always windy and not a good location for bay swimming or kayaking. The aquarium was enjoyable focusing mostly on local fish and habitat. The USS Lexington is an enjoyable tour but with many stairs and hatches.

Enjoyable restaurants abound. Getting around despite the holiday was good. Enjoyed Texas State Aquarium. Whitecap Beach was very festive but very busy of course.

Migrating birds fly across the Gulf and are exhausted when they get to CC. It would be great if the town and developments would leave some native vegetation and plant more in parks etc. Blucher Park is a great example. Reduce lighting at night.
