The COVID-19 pandemic may have changed how we travel, but it hasn't put the brakes on our zest for exploring. Here are a few tips on how to tackle the new challenges of travelling:

• Before you book a flight, find out if any travel bans or restrictions apply — in both your origin and destination. Keep informed with the latest updates by reviewing official government websites.
• Requirements state that you must wear a face mask throughout your travel experience, including at screening checkpoints. You should be prepared to lower your mask to verify your identity when asked by a TSA employee.
• To avoid cross-contamination, place your boarding pass on the reader yourself and then hold it up for inspection. Do not hand your pass directly to a TSA employee.
• One container of liquid hand sanitizer is now allowed in your carry-on baggage. It must be no larger than 12 oz (350 ml), and you'll have to remove it from your bag at the X-ray machine for screening.
• Put any personal items (phone, keys and wallet) in your carry-on instead of a bin to reduce handling during the screening process.
• Separate any food you have for screening. Food items often set off the alarm. Placing them in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA officer to handle and inspect your belongings.
