2/10 Terrible

"I arrived at the property at 10:30 pm, the parking lot had police cars with lights on and talking to groups of people. I went inside the lobby to check in and was told that my reservation was canceled. I had a reservation for three nights. She said she was sorry and that they had cancelled a lot of reservations and they were all locked up. So I went back out to my car to find another hotel for three nights last minute. When I left there were County Law Enforcement in the parking lot. Thankfully I was able to book another hotel. But my card was charged, Expedia will not give me a refund as they tried to contact the hotel and are unable to get a response. I literally am writing this review on a booking that I was not allowed to check into. Received emails 10 minutes apart for reviews on two hotel bookings for the same dates. One I never stayed at and one I did. I have used Expedia for all of my travel needs. That ends today. I stayed at Mainstays last week and was satisfied to the point I was going to stay there 3 nights every week for the next 3 months. Nope. So sick of getting disregarded by faceless commerce. No accountability."

"I wish I could leave a better review. Facilities were nice and room was spacious and clean. Staff was kind. Where it went south…TV did not work. Spoke with front desk twice, never came to fix it. My bed frame was broken, right side of the bed. Told front desk twice, no fix. As for new towels twice in the AM, no towels in the PM, went to front desk to get more. Zero housekeeping throughout the stay. Tried to cook in the room…stove vent would not come on, told front desk. Kitchen sink barely came on and in the shower, average water temp was like warm. Told front desk. I haven’t left bad reviews. This is my first but when I was told they would look into it and didn’t happen. That’s a customer service issue. Sorry folks. I will not return and cancelled my next stay. Rates were great but now I know why."

The Wildwood Hotel

"We loved this hotel! The pool was next level above the standard hotel pool, the light continental breakfast was more than adequate, and the staff was super friendly. The room was clean and roomy, and it had a bathtub! We were here with our grandchildren visiting Six Flags and they loved it too."

"Honestly I was surprised at how clean and nice it was, the room was clean and bed comfortable decently maintained with an a.c that worked, could have used a decent comfortable chair instead of the single school cafeteria type the room had. I paid for early check and when I got to the motel at 11am I was informed that they had no rooms available until 2 or 3pm so that was a waist but overall I was pleasantly surprised by how decent my stay was."

Clayton Plaza Hotel & Extended Stay

10/10 Excellent

"I loved this hotel, especially for the cost per night. The breakfast buffet was great with tons of options, like a full-service restaurant. The front desk staff were amazing and the customer service was on point. They have a small laundry room and vending area, and everything is functional. The small gym is a little dated, but it is usable. The parking garage is great, too. I will definitely stay here again when I come to St. Louis!"
