"We just stayed one night here on a swing trip through West Virginia, and everything was just right - easy on-off the main highway, comfortable small-town feel with several restaurant options. The hotel itself was more than adequate with efficient and friendly staff, large clean room with everything in working order (good shower, quiet A/C, good TV and wifi reception, etc.). "Beautiful location & a great variety of amenities . This resort truly has anything you’d want or need: lodging in hotel/lodge rooms, cottages, lakeside homes, or camping. Recreation options include golfing, fishing, hiking, boating (kayaks, canoes, SUPs, pontoon & Craig cat rentals), 3 restaurants with gourmet food. Everything on the resort is walkable. The indoor & outdoor heated pool & hot tub and fitness room are also a bonus. "

"We had a great stay. We were attending a ghost hunt at Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum and needed a place close by to sleep for a few hours. The owners were very welcoming and accommodating. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The Weston Bar and Grill restaurant was a quick walk across the parking lot. Our meal was delicious! I just had a burger w fries but it was hot and juicy. My friend had a chicken Quesadilla w rice for a side and she said it was the best Quesadilla she ever...

"The only two downsides were a lack of WiFi and cell service (only available in the main house) and no GPS. They do send you very detailed directions, but if you are wholly unfamiliar with the area, it can be a little unsettling to be on winding roads outside of civilization with no cell service. "We had absolutely no problem staying at Elk River except our stay wasn't long enough. The young lady who registered us in at 8pm was lovely and another young lady saw us at our car, in the rain, getting our luggage and stopped to help us carry it all to our room. Our Bird Song room was wonderful and clean, we enjoyed every minute except it was just too short. We travel quite a bit from through West Virginia and Elk River will definitely be a stop along the way, making sure we stay a few...
