"Caravan is lovely and comfortable, though can be noisy in stormy weather, though otherwise it's a quiet location. Drive is quite steep for parking. Fantastic views over Loch Long. Access drive is a single road, is quite steep in places and it can be tricky to find the caravan."

"The location of the property is glorious, spectacular views and if you do not wish to eat in the restaurant there are several others about a one mile walk away in Balloch or a short drive. Although our room was small, it was well decorated and had everything we needed. The only downside was having a room which overlooked the roadside. It was extremely noisy with guests and staff leaving/entering the building at all times of the night/early morning and the noise from the A82 from early hours was...

"As we visited in the month of May , it was cold and we had to beg to have the heat turned on. Once it was,it was comfortable. I do not think that the rooms have seen any updating since the 1970’s…the room furniture was not in good shape. The hotel is well situated overlooking Loch Lomond and easy to get anywhere. "My wife and I had a decent stay at the Royal Marine, though it was a bit of a mixed bag. The building looks magnificent, and although a little tired, has fantastic potential with some TLC. Our room was spotless, and we enjoyed paying extra for the sea view; watching the ferry terminal activity was actually quite relaxing.
