"Arrived in our room and were immediately disappointed with the quality of the accommodation, the wood furniture was worn and chipped in some places and had a metal screw pointing outwards to keep a cupboard closed, which could have caught someone’s leg.
We asked to change the room which the helpful receptionist did, which was slightly better and whilst the furniture was still tired and worn, at least it was safe enough.
On a positive note, the view from the room we chose was great overlooking the impressive Tower Bridge.
We had a lovely dinner in the hotel’s Vicinity restaurant on the first night and the staff were very friendly.
We used the lovely cocktail bar on the first floor a couple of times , staff were very friendly and helpful and would definitely recommend a visit there for a night cap .
Overall, the hotel had a lot of good features including the views over the impressive Tower Bridge, however, the worn and tired bedrooms that we were in, was not in keeping with what a major hotel in this landmark location should be . "
