"I stayed at La Quinta Inn Decatur in December, and overall the stay was okay. It does look like the hotel has been renovated, which I appreciated.
That said, the cleanliness of our room was questionable. The door frame and several areas of the room looked like they needed fresh paint or touch-ups. The ceiling also appeared to have had water damage that had just been painted over.
When staying in a hotel, I expect the room to feel clean, fresh, and well-maintained. Unfortunately, between the worn paint and overall condition, it felt more “lived in” than it should have.
Additionally, the USB and USB-C charging ports in the room were not working, which was inconvenient.
I share this feedback in hopes it helps improve the experience for future guests."
"The hotel is outdated and in poor condition. The room had a noticeable mildew smell, and the bathroom door would not close properly. The walls had chipped paint and clearly need repainting. The bathtub was chipped, the bathroom floors were dirty, and the toilet was nearly unbolted from the floor. Additionally, the soda machine was not functioning properly—the drinks were warm and tasted stale. If it hadn’t been so late when I checked in, I would have canceled my reservation and found another hotel.

Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Decatur at Decatur Conference Center
8/10 Good
"The bed was comfortable and the AC worked well. The cleanliness was concerning though. The bathroom had hair and dirt in the sink and shower, with a used washcloth thrown in the corner. The fridge was always off. You have to push a button to turn it on, but it only stays active for two hours then goes off again. I don't know if it was just my room, by the walls are "thin". You could hear people showering and talking next door and walking around from the floor above. Staff was super friendly though and breakfast was pretty decent. Overall, not the best but definitely not the worst."
