"The front desk staff is wonderful, particularly Shawn who carried my two heavy suitcases all the way to my room, and Cian who fetched two water bottles for us as we were leaving because we’d slept through breakfast and my daughter was thirsty. But backtracking to “carried my two heavy suitcases” for a moment, it was necessary because the property has no lift (elevator) but it does have a central staircase and then there were a couple of other smaller staircases on the way to our room. There was a broken window pane and the furnishings were dated. Bed comfortable. The food was disappointing. I had a seafood chowder which was pretty good and the fish tasted fresh. the main was a steak that looked pale and was not cooked with lots of fat and gristle, the vegetables were overcooked. "Hi, Cong is a lovely village to visit. All the staff I met at Ryan’s hotel were helpful and friendly. Plenty of parking behind the hotel. I really liked how in my room they had managed to keep some of the original stonework in the bathroom and bedroom. The bed was comfortable and I had a good sleep."

"Fabulous property…. Everything top notch. Plenty of activities on the property from bike riding, golf, trap shooting, falconry, etc.. We stayed in Ashford Lodge which was just fine… you need a dinner / lunch reservation to get into the castle."

"Beautiful, spacious property. Practical Details for Americans: they have a water kettle not a coffee pot, so purchase instant or bag coffee before you come, not beans or ground. They have a washer and dryer. You need to bring pods and be aware, it's a condenser dryer that takes about 2 hours to dry a verysmall load (5-6 items). Be sure to empty the dryer water tank. It's muddy on the property, so bring slippers or alternate shoes plus something to put your shoes in to protect your suitcase....

"The hotel is in a stunning location. If you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing stay with great food this is unbeatable. Staff are excellent, welcoming and humorous. And if you want fishing then it is perfect. We will go back."
