"We can highly recommend the Le Meridian hotel outside Split on the beach. Be aware that it is a good 20+ minute ride out of town. That being the case, don't get into a cab unless you negotiate in advance the price of the trip. We were conned into a cab ride from the marina and the driver tried to charge us 75 Euros to get to the hotel. "Having strong air conditioning was appreciated during the heat wave. The breakfast buffet had a good selection of foods and is a good benefit for the cost of accommodation. I also had a great entree for a late lunch at the restaurant. Parking around the hotel is limited, so if you have a rental as we did, plan accordingly. We were able to find parking in the alleyway adjacent to the hotel."

"Nice place in the peaceful area of Plat. If you don't have a car it's easy to get to places either by bus or taxi. Pool with bar and beach area with bar as well. You can also get water taxis to Cavtat and Dubrovnik from here. Also has on site restaurant. As others have said, it is cash only. So make sure you have plenty of euros.
