"Nice old hotel in beautiful grounds and parking for your car was very good, the staff in the restaurant were very friendly and efficient and the 3 course dinners were excellent. We had a great room overlooking the gardens the room just needed updating they kept it clean and nicely maintained. Would definitely recommend and go again, it was within easy walking distance to gardens, shops and Derwent water."

"The property was very nice with good amenities. The pool and jacuzzi was an excellent facility. However the seam room was only working once during our stay which was a shame. Staff were superb and very helpful however the menu lacked lactose free knowledge and had it not been for the young lady going above and beyond to ask the chef what could be made we would have eaten elsewhere."

"Nice hotel , nice garden with places to sit in among the ducks. Clean rooms . Bit unsure on how to get into the model village on site , no information on it anywhere. Got to the gate only to find you needed a ticket from reception which is a good way back up hill so didn’t bother. Sign at reception would have been a good idea. Lovely receptionist when we checked in but the one in the morning was so miserable, never smiled and just seemed like she didn’t want to be there . Having said that...

"Hotel in an ideal location for centre of town, close to railway station. Ideal to walk to parkrun in 30 mins. Dog friendly hotel. Some noise from city centre, but not too bad considering a Friday evening. Bathroom in need of an upgrade but was spotless and did not detract from pleasant stay. Staff very friendly and helpful. Carpark monitored on cctv. I would recommend and definitely return"

"when the hotel was booked it came with secure off road parking this turned out to be a load of rubbish so didnt do the trip and will never book with you again and i advise others to do there homework before booking this hotel and any other hotels with you and do not also use the insurance its not worth it just a way of getting more money from you"
