"I recently stayed at The Island Resort at Fort Walton Beach and unfortunately, the experience was far from what I expected. While the location itself is beautiful, the overall quality of service and management left a lot to be desired. The biggest issue during my stay was the lack of professionalism and responsiveness from the property manager. Concerns that were brought up—ranging from room cleanliness to maintenance issues—were either dismissed or addressed very slowly. It felt like guest satisfaction was not a priority at all. Communication was poor, and there was little effort made to resolve problems in a timely or courteous manner. The room itself was not properly cleaned upon arrival, and several amenities that were advertised were either unavailable or not functioning. When these issues were reported, the response from management was indifferent at best. For the price point, I expected a much higher level of service and attention to detail. Unfortunately, the lack of accountability from the property manager and staff made this a disappointing stay. I would not recommend this resort unless significant improvements are made in management and customer service."

"This hotel desperately needs an upgrade, the rooms are so old it almost smells like mold, the sheets were very rough they felt like sandpaper, housekeeping definitely doesn’t change the sheets, when we took a shower the tub wasn’t draining and the carpet was soaked in some spots I’m pretty sure it had to do with the tub, the only reason we stayed was for MegaCon and how close it was, would we come back? No way. "

"WATERPARK NOT INCLUDED!!! Our room was recently refreshed and clean. The sofa bed was incredibly squeaky and uncomfortable so it really should just be listed as a 2 people room. The initial time share presentation was easily avoided. However we felt very misled about the waterslides. We didn't see anywhere on Expedia's site that they were not included, and the photos are featured prominently. Our kids were really excited to head there and it was a huge disappointment that it was not included. I tried to work with Expedia so we could book something else, however the "hotel did not respond" so we didn't hear back until our vacation was done. Overall the room was better than expected, the multiple pools were nice, but don't go for the waterslides and lazy river, you pay extra for that and it's really not worth it if you don't have a full day to enjoy it! "
