"Officially the Kairaba is still rated as a 5* hotel, the only one as far as we know in Gambia. And this is still visible with respect to the quality of the room furniture and the installation and the way the staff deals with wishes (addressed at the reception) or problems (e.g. a problem with water leakage in the toilet got immediately fixed by an experienced craftsmen after we told the room service about it and she had called her colleague). "Affordable, nice pool, poor breakfast. Room not secure. No toilet paper, poor lighting, bathroom and towels dingy, closet broken and there is absolutely no sea view. A big ugly wall blocks the view. Not as beautiful as advertised. Nice that it’s used by mostly locals. Lots of places nearby to go to eat and drink. No bottle water given. "

"The location of the Palma Rima is excellent and the bungalows are a good size and in nice grounds. The staff are all excellent particularly the reception staff and money exchange (safe) man (Buba Demba) and all of the security and cleaning/maintenance staff who we had most dealings with. The breakfast is not the best however with limited choice. We also never ate or drank in the hotel due to the cost. "

"The decore in the rooms are very unique. The downside was the bed, it had a shelf surrounding and being short it made it hard to get in and out of bed. The staff were very friendly. Breakfast was a little disappointing with not much selection to choice from. Overall a great experience and would definitely return "
