The hotel is very peaceful, fully equiped, staff are execellent and attentive from the moment you step into our hotel transfer till the moment we left for our home. We had a wonderful 4 night stay, breakfast was fantastic with multiply choices. We were taught on how to play a game called petanque, we throughly enjoyed the competition with the Hotels staff. We left with fond memories.

Great hotel. Super location by the Mekong. Also next door to an excellent restaurant-Ock Pop Tok. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Shuttle into town was easy. Breakfast could be better - pretty basic , but we were there in the shoulder season , so not many guests (which was wonderful in its own right). All in all we had a fantastic time in Luang Prabang and were sorry to leave. FYI there is a hotel shuttle to the train station- so make sure you ask In advance.

The hotel was a highlight of our stay in Vang Vieng. Watching from the pool as the balloons took off for sunset tours was unforgettable

Absolutely fantastic hotel with great views. Shuttle bus into the town just a few minutes away runs often. We didn't find much to do in the town. Very few good restaurants and hard to find them. The waterfalls are a fair distance away but well worth the visit. Luang Prabang is mainly a destination for backpackers of all ages and for them the town is probably a perfect base to explore from. 5 star settings right in the middle of a national park. Beautiful and thoughtfully created huts, good sized rooms, clean, hygienic toilets. Recommended

Lovely hotel in superb setting

Family holiday with teens. Everyone loved Luang Prabang and the friendly and charming Hotel Villa Maydou. Hotel is set in old temple grounds, and the temple at the front is still practising, so expect to hear some chanting and see novice monks do homework in the shade. Few minor quibbles: airport transfer failed both ways (pick up was forgotten about, and the hotel also ordered a way too small tuk-tuk for taking us (4 adults with suitcases) to the airport. Pleasant stay, very friendly staff and great breakfast. Room was clean and good location and nice swimming pool to cool off inmOnly issues water didn't come out of the shower that much I know they were trying to sort it and three of my white t shirts came back with stains on them which was disappointing. But overall a good stay thank you.

An excellent hotel in a convenient location. Staff were friendly and helpful best breakfast we have ever had in Asia. Only downside was that they didn't have an evening opening restaurant and we had find somewhere outside, this after a long journey.
