"All staff members were friendly and helpful at all times - front desk, Elijah, helped make checking in easy and effortless; Housekeeping staff were always pleasant and accommodating - since we always had the "Do Not Disturb" sign out, then would inquire as we left our room if we needed anything - even when other visitors left their food & trash spread out on the floor fronting elevators, the staff cleaned it immediately; Glad there were the Elevator Doormen who checked to make sure only guests...

"The hotel is unique in decor. It is older, but very clean and antique decor. I loved it. We were pleasantly surprised to get a larger room. Very close to Central Park and Museum across the street. Also subway is close. We walked to the theatre district for a play.
I was so happy to find that cleaning staff found my wallet. I had left it in the safe and staff had given it to the office. What a huge relief!! Nice to know we do have some decent honest people in this world!!

"Our first stay at The Algonquin - and it didn’t disappoint. The room was nice - comfortable but small. Bathroom had a lot of hot water and plenty of towels. A great location for us - we saw one drama on Broadway that was a block north on 45th and another one that was a block south on 43rd. "
