"Staff was not outwardly friendly. Helpful, not rude, but not engaging. Bed’s were very comfortable! Buffet breakfast was good. We didn’t take time to use the pool but the area was clean and looked well maintained Overall a great place to stay and I would recommend it."

"This is our second stay at The 1857, and we’re already discussing when we can visit again. The rooms are spacious & clean. Comfortable beds, great ambiance & friendly staff."

"House keeping walked in with no knock warning and the do not disturb sign on the doorknob at 8am. Refrigerator had leftover lunch meat and vegetables from previous guest inside upon check in. No soap at/near sink. Only dispenser was a lotion dispenser. Nearest dispenser was attached to the shower wall. There was no bar soap."

"Bathroom is very small. The only sink, is the one that is in the "kitchenette" area. Also, only 1 small trash can in the whole place. Wall AC unit was very noisy. It seems like they are trying to fix the place up, but its going to need some work."

"My room was filthy, and reeked of urine. I specifically asked for a non smoking room, yet it REEKED of cigarette smoke. The blankets had burn holes all over, and the room was infested with flies."
