We stayed in the Fig Tree hut and all I can say is it is the best room of the house. They are undergoing some renovation but no disruption to our stay. "The grounds were exceptional!! Beautiful, lush, vegetation and majestic mature trees. We enjoyed the bird songs in the morning. It is an easy walk to the pristine river/cove where the fresh water from the river meets the salt water of the ocean. The setting is serene. It allows you to be with your thoughts and could be a good place to write a book. The rooms, though spacious and habitable are in dire need of renovations. With renovations, Frenchman's Cove could be more than a Five Star hotel!"

"Friendly and helpful staff. Relaxed environment situated on a cliff with a great view overlooking the ocean. The cabin I stayed in was clean, however I would have preferred an actual door to separate the bathroom from the bedroom, and not just a curtain. Two outdoor pools, clean and well maintained. Breakfast options are limited, and may not be to everyone’s liking."

What I didn’t like was the fact that to get there, the drive up to the house was very steep and if you don’t know how to handle the drive, it’s problematic. "Starlight Chalet is a very nice, well maintained classic building with beautiful landscaping. The view is wonderful, especially from upstairs and from the gazebo. The food was very good (but perhaps a bit expensive). The beds were comfortable and the room/bathroom was clean and well-maintained. There is no AC, but the temperature at 3500' was much cooler than in the adjacent lowlands so AC was not essential. We went on several birding excursions and found lots of good birds. If you go,...
