"Really enjoyed our stay at Mountain Heights Lodge. They were so helpful, as we had accidentally booked for the wrong night. Rooms were very comfortable and clean. We also appreciated the continental breakfast in the morning. Would absolutely stay here again."

"The rooms were clean, a nice stay, but small and missed details. A jug was provided but we could not fill it from the one tap provided in the bathroom sink, either shower or filling by cup was available. The toilet seat does not feel sturdy for the 110kg plus sizes, and at only 6ft my feet were off the ends of the bed. The bathroom door had no lock, which might be ok for couples, but not so with teenage daughters. This was made obvious by the shower door handle hitting the door especially...

"We stayed 2 nights in the ‘deluxe’ double room No 4 directly behind reception. The self check-in process was very easy to use. I suspect like everyone else we were there to do the Alpine Crossing. So in that context it suited us fine, only a few minutes drive to the pickup point. The room was en-suite, the shower was okay once it warmed up and it had a decent TV with a range of channels. The kitchen was well equipped. Overall very good value."

"All very clean . Stayed in lodge room ( shared bathroom . Warm ,comfortable . Breakfast brought to room prompt at 8 am . Facilities for laundry ,and good shared kitchen facilities "

"This is an old basic motel. Whilst the rooms had everything you needed, and were fairly clean, mattresses were terrible and we all had sore backs the next day with very little sleep. "

"Nowhere to sit outside and the hot tub was very old and didn’t work properly and was not clean. Also not hot. "

"Despite an unprepossessing exterior, the unit was wood panelled inside, and was cosy. The living area was large and it was quiet, being located away from the main road. The stairs to the bedrooms were a bit narrow and creaky, but we had a comfortable sleep. Enjoyed our stay."

"We spent three nights at the Lodge. It is an excellent base for exploring Tongariro. Our room was very comfortable and the lodge had a laundry and drying room. Breakfasts were very good. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Thank you for a lovely stay. Ps. make sure you meet Lucky, a very friendly feline who befriended us 😻"
