"Really scary area for females! The roads around the hotel are blocked by tires, trash cans & lots of people selling what looks to be stolen clothes that are just heaped into piles. This area has tons of vagrants. I gave up my "non-refundable" reservation & just headed to a safer part of town & put down the money to stay somewhere else. Found this hotel with an AI search & will never do that again. Please be careful if you choose this hotel."

"This hotel is well situated in Ortigia and is in a lovely old building. We enjoyed the staff, the bar and the breakfast. However we were misled by our room booking on Expedia. We expect d a room with a view of a mediterranean garden. We got a room facing an inner area- the light well - which afforded very little natural light in the room.band faced another bedroom’s window. "This was one of the best experiences we’ve had, and really appreciate the staff at this beautiful hotel. The space is lovely, as are the rooms. The location is incredible and the views can’t be beat. Finally, the team there were so helpful and genuinely invested in our comfort. They went way out of their way to accommodate vegan diets and did an incredible incredible job. Easily in the top 5 of our hotel experiences and could be the top spot. Highly recommended!"
