"We recently stayed at Sonesta and while the hotel itself is beautiful with amazing views and a great location, our experience was unfortunately very frustrating.
Upon check-in, we specifically booked an ocean view room but were initially given Room 101, which had a parking lot/front entrance view instead. After having to make a fuss, we were finally moved to Room 311, which was much better.
However, on days 2 and 3, the AC stopped working. On top of that, there was heavy construction going on...

"We stayed it a studio. It was ok. Room needs updating but clean. Facility very high up so be prepared for that drive. Was a little scary if you not used to mountain driving actually. Checking in building was very confusing to get to so good luck."

"Food was great! A majority of the staff was great! Tried the rooms with Bali beds out front and that was a waste of money. No view and filled with ants. Get a higher room with an ocean view.
The beach was useless as it is steep and ground seashells for sand. That said, you cannot beat the view of Simpson Bay.
Great island and will be back when they rebuild. I would just stay at a sister property near the airport next time."

"The staff is tremendously rude,waited 4 hours for a room upon arrival,next day got removed from my room at 10am.to transfer and i sat in the lobby till 4pm.to get a room,mind you i was already checked in from the day before.They will NOT accomodate you at restaurants if you are a large group!Very,very terrible,loved Sint Maarteen but not the resort,and at the airport the were very rude at check in..too much attitude!"

"Es la 3ra vez que nos quedamos aquí, simplemente hermoso el resort, tiene todo para hacer, no hay que salir. Realmente se siente uno en el Caribe. Los restaurantes son excelentes todos, los bares , wuaoo las pizzas, la comida del Rooftop deliciosa y sobre todo lo amables que son. La habitacion muy cómoda, la cama, la vista a la playa.
Gracias a todos por sus atenciones, a los que mantienen en pie el resort, lo apreciamos mucho.
Dios mediante seguiremos viniendo."
