"The property was nice. Easy to get to and the staff are accommodating. We got two rooms with 2 beds. They are big enough for two people and baggage in each room. The bathrooms are shared in the hallways. Each bathroom is private and has a shower. Very clean and warm during the cold winter. Never had issues waiting for the bathroom. There were 4 bathrooms on each floor. The main building had a bar and a lounge to hang out in. Tea, coffee and water offered all day for free. Would stay here again. "

"A great stay and very unique in style not something you find in many Hotels. The reception is very helpful especially Storm who understood my needs and very caring.The one thing I didn’t like was the creaky floor boards particularly the corridors outside rooms at night it can be noisy. "We stayed Funken Lodge last year. We liked amenities in the room and great breakfast. One year on, the room facilities were bit shabbier (USB plug next of bed didn’t work, less amenities such as hand cream, disposable razor, shoe polish, tooth brush, little shaving cream). Breakfast was still great. Wide variety of choices. However, I ordered Champions and leek omelette, came out Champions and onion. Reception ladies were very friendly and helpful. Just a little bit far to reach centre of town....

"Basecamp is a stunning property and gives the authentic feel of a base camp ie no tv, phones, or wardrobes in bedrooms. The breakfast had great variety and eggs Benedict was a popular request. The only downside for me as a sole traveller in a triple room was that I had to pay the full price. There are no facilities such as a sauna or pool - but this is the high Arctic so I'm not sure if any accommodation has these facilities! Staff were wonderful - friendly and super helpful. "

"This is a lovely property. The beds were comfortable, and the living area/kitchen were spacious. Having two bathrooms (one full, one half) was extremely convenient. The kitchen is well-equipped, and the temperature in the lodge was very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again."
