"Because of hip and knee problems, it was wonderful to have helpful staff carry my case up the stairs into the hotel. I had a lovely first-floor room, clean, bright, with a spacious bathroom that had a separate tub from the walk-in shower. There was a good amount of space in the area that had a closet and a desk. The selection of teas in the room was excellent for me since I am not a coffee drinker, but they had organic coffee, too. From decorations to comfort and especially to the helpful staff, this was a great choice for me as a solo traveler."

"Restaurant food very average and overpriced. The poor desk staff were clearly forced to press us to book a table saying the restaurant was busy when it was not. Staff uniformly excellent, but the food poor. Ask for a quieter room not facing the train and tram lines or bin stores."

"I can’t really say very much as I arrived very late at 230 in the morning after a delayed flight and left early to get to my final home destination. I did sleep very well in the bed, I would like to know where the pilllows are from! It was a very comfy bed. "

"Room was very clean. No bad odours. The beds were very comfy and clean. Shower was also very clean. Parking was easy to find and easy to park in. The staff was very helpful and easy to speak too."

"I have to say , WOW! Both me and my husband enjoyed our stay so much at the Dakota . We originally booked a king room for our last two days to relax before our flight . After our first night , though the room was stunning , but we decided we wanted to indulge. I went down to reception where Brooke helped us , and organized a suite for the remainder of our stay . They allowed us to relax in our previous room until the suite was ready , which was before normal check in time (3pm) . Bringing us into the room shortly after 12pm. If you go to this hotel , I highly recommend upgrading . Though the entry level rooms are beautiful and extremely comfortable , the suites are truly an experience. Every need is met before you even have to ask , and the staff were incredible . During our stay in Scotland we visited 4 hotels , and this was by far the best hospitality we received. The champagne service is such a lovely touch as well ! It was the most relaxed and calm we’ve been during our entire trip . Thank you so much to the entire Dakota staff (especially Brooke and David ) for making it truly amazing . We will definitely be back !"

"The rooms can do with a deep clean. From the sink to the skirting it was filthy. We had a family room, the top mattress was burst open, which you could see from the bottom bunk. The handle on the cupboard in the bunk bed room was broken off, not ideal as meant we couldn't use it. There is an additional charge to use the swimming pool, I didn't know this until check in. Breakfast was alright, however, there were no pastries the whole time were at breakfast, and there was still and hour left of breakfast service to go. Although setting is good I wouldn't rush back to this hotel."

"Stay here regularly. We booked a more expensive king bed room, was told on arrival we had the best room however when we got there the room was far from an upgraded room and looked more tired than their standard room and wasn’t a king bed in it, the staff very kindly moved us to another room which was far better however it was so hot and even with the fan supplied on all night and window opened, it was uncomfortably hot. Great hotel, but I would choose the basic room in future as the upgraded ones aren’t as nice to be honest"
