The property is perfectly located for anyone visiting the thunder basin national grassland. The grassland is a historic and unique part of our environment. It is kind of a cross between dances with wolves and Lonesome Dove!
The room was very clean and we were able to park very close to the doorway. There is a 24 hour restaurant. We will definitely be returning.
I give this 5 stars because for a two star hotel they did a really nice job! This is in the middle of nowhere and we were so happy it was there. The roads were in bad shape and this wonderful hotel saved us from a terrible night. And we got to have dinner which was a huge plus as the closest restaurants are 15 miles away.
Friendly staff. 24 hr old style diner. Good food. Off the beaten path style accomodations and staff for a old style stay

The Real World
Working class motel. Next to a working railroad track servicing the largest coal mines in the USA. So if you are looking for an industrial dystopia this is the place for you. The hotel could use a refresh but then again we got the sense that the weather in Bill WY near the Thunder Basin is brutal. The staff was incredibly friendly and well intentioned. Travelodge should provide them with snappy uniforms. The dress code could be upgraded.
This place is a great place if you need to rest for the night. While the property itself is a bit dated, it is still perfectly functional and adequate. Being out in the middle of nowhere, it's safe and extremely quiet. The 24hr attached diner is also very convenient. Most hotels stop breakfast at around 9am, and being the night owl that I am, I often times never wake up in time. I liked how I'm able to go get a nice hot meal any time of day. The price per room is also a good value as well. Overall a solid hotel. Would stay here again.
The staff here are always great, friendly, and so happy to help with whatever is needed.
The rooms are always clean and I love that they have cribs for our baby.
Unfortunately there is really nothing around the area - but that’s not the hotels fault.
The only thing I do wish - and honestly I’m not sure that it’s even possible, but I do wish they had some rooms with king size beds.
Otherwise though- this is a really nice little hotel when you need to stay in the middle of nowhere and the diner is so cute and has delicious food.

Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
We wanted to enjoy our stay but the fridge still had food in it from previous people, no way to get extra towels because we never found a worker. After a long day of sightseeing we came back to find the diner closed. We went to bed hungry because the nearest other options were nearly an hour away! Otherwise stay was OK. Safe and quiet
