"For our first visit to Asheville we chose Zelda Dearest and stayed in the Darling Heart room. The hotel is a unique place with rooms set about several different buildings surrounding a courtyard. The location of the hotel is within easy walking distance of the main shopping/restaurant/bars in downtown Asheville. (There are several fantastic restaurants located within a 5-15 minute walk.)
Our accommodation was very spacious having a living room, separate bedroom with a king bed, and large bathroom. Unfortunately, the sofa sleeper in the living room was not comfortable, which we needed to use for the first night due to a maintenance issue in the bedroom. Thankfully, the issue was resolved the next day. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Parking is available on site but you may have to pay for it (unless it’s included in your booking fee.) There is a small bar/lounge area that is quaint and the mixologist does a fine job serving up your favorite Flapper era beverage.
Unfortunately, the breakfast options for us (gluten-free) were marginal. If you like a continental type breakfast, you’ll enjoy it. Overall, a unique experience at Zelda Dearest."
