Our two-night stay at Shian Cottage in Trochry, near Dunkeld, was truly unforgettable. The village itself is picturesque and peaceful, but what made the experience exceptional was the warmth of the people. Adrian and Sheila were incredibly kind-hearted hosts. Their hospitality made us feel instantly at home, and their knowledge of the area added so much to our stay. It honestly felt as though we had known them for years.The breakfast was absolutely delicious, and the cottage itself was spotlessly clean. Every corner was thoughtfully decorated with love and care, creating a cosy and welcoming atmosphere throughout. We were also touched by the kindness we encountered around Dunkeld. A special thank you to the chef at Dunkeld Art Cafe, who went out of their way to help us when we were unsure about our plans. Small moments like that made a big difference. From the friendly pizza shop owner to the helpful lady taxi driver and Billy, everyone we met contributed to making our short trip truly memorable. This wasn’t just a stay—it was an experience filled with genuine warmth and connection. We’re very grateful and would love to return.

Shien Cottage 5 stars.

Just had an excellent 2 night stay at Shien Cottage. Hosts Sheila and Adrian were perfect hosts. Cottage is exceptionally clean and the breakfast was superb. Ideal location for exploring the surrounding countryside.

Peaceful and cosy B&B

The place was spotlessly clean. Both the bedroom and the bathroom were perfectly prepared. Thank you Adrian for making us feel so welcome. The homemade breakfast was excellent.

We had a wonderful time at Shian Cottage. Adrian and Shelia are terrific hosts. The place itself was cozy and welcoming. A nice surprise were the afternoon scones. If you ever have the opportunity, we highly recommend it!

In the country, close to Dunkeld, Great Stay

Adrian & Sheila were excellent hosts and made us feel most welcome.The house lies in an open valley with expansive views over fields to the woods and forests and hills beyond. The garden was full of flowers and birds. Stayed for 3 nights but would have been happy to stay longer. Lots to do and see but needed more time. Dunkeld with its’Cathedral’, River Tay and glorious bridge, variety of small shops, The Birnam Oak, the River Braan and its walks to the Hermitage and Rumbling Bridge. We will go back there again.

This is a lovely B&Bin a delightful quiet area of Perthshire. Close to lots of tourist hot spots. A very warm welcome from Shelia and Adrian with tea and homemade cake. I had a downstairs bedroom with a comfy bed and use of a very pleasant sitting room. One surprise were the “dark skies” with a wonderful view of so many stars. I’ll visit again .

This property is well kept. The owners present a wonderfully comfortable place to rest and relax. A bit out of Dunkeld, the location is safe and quiet. I would recommend anyone looking for a bit of time in a country setting, stay here.
