"Smelly & dirty The room appeared clean from afar, but my once white socks tell a different story. Sitting at the table in my “deluxe” room, my bare knees were tormented by old spider webs. The washroom had an over powering sewage odour which rendered the bathroom unusable. Running the water did not correct the smell either. Raising my concerns with the office yielded no result. I was left to forfeit my two night stay and find alternate accommodations."

"Room was clean. Very basic and minimal towels in rooms. Very few outlets in rooms. Also needs better blinds or curtains as they don’t keep much light out at all. Staff were lovely. Property is very run down and the halls smell like cigarette smoke but rooms didn’t smell. We only got there later and left early so was good for what we needed."

"Fantastic getaway for our 40th anniversary! Relatively short (pleasant) drive, beautiful small town, fantastic restaurant & beautiful overnight accommodations. Definitely a return visit in the future!"

"When I come to visit family we always stay here. Nothing fancy. But clean, quiet and well kept up. We appreciate the little extras like a box of tissue or the free water and snacks. Friendly staff and reasonably priced."

"WHAT a discovery! I loved my stay at Canalside -- the room was beautifully updated, but still had those historic squeaky wooden floors that remind everyone to be a little quieter (it worked!). The coffee maker produced great morning joe; the shower got hot almost immediately; the bed linens were soft and the towels were a perfect blend of absorbent and scratchy. I just wish I had asked the (very helpful, very personable) staff how to work the air conditioning...thank god they provided a...

"Beautiful room. This will seem odd at first. The building is unmarked. But WOW! A beautifully appointed suite. Large and loaded with high end features. Nice little downtown with some good restaurants and a coffee shop across the street. One block to LCBO, beer store and groceries. Highly recommend"
