There were bugs in the room flying around who knows how many I swallowed when sleeping. Shower was a trickle also had the dehumidifier running all night. Paid for Garden view which was the second floor. They put us on the bottom floor and complained I had booked to months earlier.

This place was affordable and clean. If you want the feel of quaint New England, this place has it. And the view in the back is peaceful, full of nature. The grounds are well maintained. A very pleasant experience.

Little Gem
We stayed at this small, quaint inn for three nights recently while exploring the Cape, and if we ever come back I would definitely stay here again. We loved the beautiful setting and the well-cared for grounds. Coffee on the balcony was a joy. The owner was so helpful with suggestions for ferries, restaurants, routes, etc... Yes, the place is a bit dated, but that's part of the charm, I think. The only thing I think should be addressed would be new mattresses.

It was so comfortable and homey. The room was small but it had everything we needed. The gardens provided a wonderful, quiet place to sit outside and enjoy the fall weather. They offered coffee, juice, fruit and pastries that we could take with us back to our room or to enjoy outside. It was very quiet and close to several restaurant options and outdoor activities. A great value for the money as well!

The property has nice landscaping and the staff are very pleasant and helpful. However, the odor of damp in the room was so strong that I had to open the window to get fresh air so I could sleep, and the odor remained in my clothes the next day.

We are located on Scorton Creek and the salt marsh that sometimes smells during the low tide. We apologize but it was not the room.

Room needed to be updated, some new paint in the bathroom, bathroom door needs to be able to close and definitely a new mattress. The view however from the front door was spectacular and it was quiet.

After a 4hr drive would have been nice to have had a really nice welcome but we didn’t. The room (11) could do with updating (vinyl floor was sticky and unclean) plus the occupants above were walking on a noisy floor above waking us extremely early every morning.

Look elsewhere and don’t risk it.
Worst hotel stay we’ve ever had. Greeted with a hot and humid room with a loud dehumidifier and poor air conditioning… hotel managers response was “it works”. Room was noticeable dirty and not pleasant. Bed was sagged on both sides. Fire safety alarms expired in 2013?! Really?! Avoid at all costs.

Every hotel every year among hundreds of guests that visit there will always be two or three that are not happy with their stay. Philip stayed with us for 2 nights, never complained about anything during his stay and at checkout started listing all the things he was not happy with and demanded 2 nights full refund. I admit the picture of the baseboard heater looks bad and we have talked to housekeeping and it was corrected but i don't think it warrants a free 2 night stay, also this room has been occupied every day during this very hot summer and we did not even have one complaint about the AC. I don't know where he got this picture of the smoke detector but every year before we open up for the season we have an inspection with the building department and fire department and all smoke and carbon monoxide alarms are part of the inspection. This is our only room with a king size bed and we have many comments on how comfortable this bed is and we have many repeat guests ask for this room. And so Philip fulfilled his threat of posting this review since we did not give him a full refund after he competed his 2 night stay that he booked 7 months in advance.

We are an older motel but most guests think we keep it clean. I asked this guest what was not clean in your room. Her answer was, she had bites on her legs. This time of the year we do have noseeum insects in the garden and we do have a spray in the office if anyone needs it.

We loved the comforting feel of this place! Would absolutely recommend to anyone and everyone. Very quiet and quaint, with kayaks and beautiful views of the creek & wetlands. Little light pollution so our most memorable part of our short but sweet stay was going out in the garden by the creek and looking up at the Milky Way and seeing shooting stars!
