High-priced charm

The Orcas Hotel is for people who like the charm of past century architecture and conditions and don't mind paying an arm and leg for it. I was desperate for accommodations for a couple of nights at the peak of summer, so grabbed the couple of nights available here. The first night I payed $195 for a bed, bath, TV and floor fan. The 2nd night I paid $100. for a bed, dresser, & bath down the hall. Not a good value, but they charge that much since they can.

The hotel has a great location. Staff was helpful and kind. The only concern that I had was the beds were extremely old and uncomfortable. I couldn’t sleep while I was there.

I loved the location, loved the room we had except a little weird oder to the room, but that could be from the location, The Hotel is very busy due to the ferries coming and going so service was slow in the restaurant at night, as in very slow due to there was only ONE person to run the bar and the restaurant on a Saturday night! Overall I would recommend this place to friends and family but tell them to time their eating times in the cafe and restaurant with the ferry schedule The room we had had a jetted tub and was very comfortable also.

This is an older property with tons of charm. Great location by the ferry (a bit noisy but also kind of cool to watch the boats coming in and out). The owner is so nice and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious!

A gem

We reserved the suite with jacuzzi and private bathroom. Lovely place. Two places to eat in the hotel. Friendly staff! Right across the street from ferry terminal. Beautiful view from our suite!

Needs some TLC

The hotel was historic and we had a beautiful view from our room but it was very bare bones. No coffee or breakfast. Our TV and the internet were out of service, too. Seems like a bit of maintenance is needed.

This property is so not worth the money they charge. The hotel area around our room smelled like urine. Our room also had a foul smell upon check in. General cleanliness in and around hotel area is below average. Our room had a multi colored blanket which isn’t good for hospitality industry as one can’t tell how clean it is. All in all, I was very disappointed.

Good location, nice staff

We stayed in a room facing the water with a jacuzzi. Lovely staff. The hotel needs some updating but we really enjoyed our stay. The bistro dinner was delicious too.

This hotel was great, very cute and comfortable. And the fish and chips down in the cafe are excellent. The staff was very friendly, the owner was amazing with my younger kids. I would definitely stay here ahain.

Beautiful old hotel. Isaac was over the top excellent in accommodating my husbands physical limitations . A lot of stairs. Food in restaurant was excellent . I know suppose to be haunted, but never had an inkling. Place getting a bit rundown. Junk all over back of hotel

Perhaps because it was off season they were short handed and things seemed chaotic. Pricey rooms with rather shabby appearance. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Location by ferry was convenient.

On the plus side, this hotel is close to the Orcas ferry dock, charming, free wifi and water, great breakfast. HOWEVER: the light switch didn't work, there were holes and patches in the walls, the bed was hard, carpet was stained, there's no sound insulation between rooms or floors, cobwebs on the lampshade, no deadbolt on the door, no heat in the room (it was so cold the condensation was on the OUTSIDE of the windows -- I had to open the window to see the nice view) and when I mentioned in the morning there was no spare blanket the woman didn't believe me; said I hadn't looked hard enough (not true). I paid extra just to get a private bath but it was definitely not worth the money. I decided not to risk the shower.

Great location; old historic hotel

Great location if you are walking on the ferry. Our rental car was waiting for us at the hotel. Staff was friendly when we checked in but not always easy to get ahold of at other times. Old historic place in need of a few repairs.

Beautiful historic hotel

Historic hotel overlooking the ferry and water. Great views. Everyone was so helpful. The room was comfortable but I think they should upgrade the mattresses. There’s no Airconditioning but don’t need it as great breeze off the water. We had wonderful dinner at the hotel. There’s also a bar and cafe where you can have breakfast. The island is small but beautiful. It’s not far to drive anywhere. This is my 2nd time staying at this hotel and would recommend it to everyone.

This is an inn, not a hotel, so expect that. The view from our room was absolutely gorgeous, and we had a balcony where we are lunch and watched the ferries come and go. All in all, this is a magical place, and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Island Antique

We went to discover the island, and we liked our stay in the antique place. It's located right next to the ferry. Traveling with a car helped to get around & discover more like the Eastsound. Our room was clean and comfortable. Hotel has a bar & café where you can get breakfast. Have your earplugs ready; the walls are thin there.

Pretty run down. There is old and charming and old and worn out. Orcas was old and worn out. Every time a guest moved around you hear it so don't plan on sleeping late

Nice hotel with a beautiful view. It is a expensive to stay there. You must have a vehicle since nothing is within walking distance. Enjoyed hotel, but like I said, it was expensive and no elevator.
