"Really cosy, quaint room a stone's throw from the station, and surprisingly quiet despite the World Cup going on across the road. Even though I arrived and left outside staff hours, checking in and out was smooth thanks to clear instructions emailed in advance and the good, old-fashioned room keys instead of cards. They even provided a fan to survive the last of the heatwave. Highly recommend!"

On check in, I was asked what time I wanted my 'full English' - not ideal being held to a time. "The hotel was very poorly staffed throughout our stay. 75%+ of tables had dirty glasses / empty bottles that needed clearing. All draught options were off at the bar and we were charged 20% service for opening 2 bottles of beer. The spa was ok but very tired. The changing rooms had a lot of broken plastic worksurfaces.
