"I really like the ethos of this B&B, it tries hard to be eco in its vegetarian background to it's use of shampoo etc in refillable containers. The owners were very helpful, they were happy to aid us in charging our car and if you have an electric car you will know what a pain it can be searching for a place to top up."

"Stopped for just the 1 night to break up the journey back to Scotland. Room was clean and well appointed. Decided to eat there which turned out to be a good choice. Only ordered a couple of starters to share and a loaded fries each. Starters were spot on especially the Bao buns which were really tasty. Neither of us could finish our loaded fries as the portions were more than generous. Staff were really friendly. Breakfast in the morning was also good quality and set us up for the journey home. Would definitely return."

"Despite our room being at the top of a flight of stairs( young lady carried our cases) the room was great, beds comfortable & bathroom suitable.The meal in the Bar was delicious & a Breakfast Bap was cooked for us to take with us as we had a bus to catch."

"I was upgraded to one if the newly refurbished suites. The room was spotlessly clean, stylish and fresh, comfortable and spacious, with nice little extra finishing. I would definitely recommend the suite (budget permitting, as the quality of the room is reflected in price) for those spending a lot of time in the room. I was mostly looking to spend my time to de stress, relax and rest. Superior rooms are also spacious and comfortable, although as far as I know, are mostly unique, i have noticed some aren’t as well equipped than others. Although, all suitable if you are going out and about more, I find they are the best value for money. The smaller rooms are lovely for a one night stay or if travelling light. I recommend making use of the spa facilities and well equipped gym. Both are clean, with all the main equipment and facilities. You can pay for treatments as extra. I have tried out a few massages, which were great for sleep and recovery from gym workouts! The staff are what makes this hotel really stand out from the rest. I cannot speak highly enough of the girls at reception, management team, and housekeeping staff. Customer service is extremely important to me, and nothing was a problem for the aforementioned staff, they made me feel comfortable, listened to and a valued returning guest. They are friendly, professional and polite. Certain staff at the pool/spa are also lovely, helpful and friendly. The bar staff were a slight let down, being fair, they were very busy."
The Horse & Farrier Inn and The Salutation Inn

"The Farrier Inn is a well run and customer focussed establishment. Dave runs a tight ship but with a very light touch. The staff were all very attentive and keen to please. The room was a decent size with comfortable beds … and the rainforest shower was a great tonic to wash away the day. I will certainly stay there again!"
