This beautiful boutique hotel is perfectly situated a block from the Royal mile and an easy walk to everywhere we wanted to go. The room was so comfortable and beautifully eclectic with all the amenities you’d ever want. The best part by far is the hotel staff. They seem to anticipate all of our needs and took care of us like we were the most important customers they’d ever had. I highly recommend the House of Gods to anyone visiting Edinburgh.

The place is a bit of a maze and quite dark, but it's beautifully decorated and the staff is incredibly attentive and helpful. It was very comfy, and the cabin room wasn't as small as I was expecting which was nice. It's excellent for a short stay, but I don't think I could deal with the wet room bathroom for an extended time period.

I had a truly outstanding visit to House of Gods. After booking I engaged with their team through an easy to use and responsive WhatsApp service. On arrival, I was greeted by the team and taken to my room and orientated. The room was stunning and truly switched off the outside world to relax in elegant luxury. The breakfast was beautifully presented in a hamper in the comfort of my room which was great. I loved my stay, and I’ll be looking for opportunities to go back!

Amazing. So much fun. Did I get lost trying to get back to the lobby from the dark ass velvet hallways? Yes, but again, part of the fun. Did my room have a phone? No, but it had a button to call the butler, summon milk and cookies, and prosecco. Again, I found it very amusing. And you'd think a hotel with velvet walls would be a unsanitary...Nope. Room was clean as a whistle. I am definitely coming back to the Edinburgh location one day. I was already raving about it to friends while in the bar downstairs, which was also great. Very creative drinks. TLDR: if you're traveling as a couple or solo, stay here !! great place, great location, very unique.

Had to wait quite a while to get checked in and some people who arrived after me got served before me Could do with a dedicated reception desk but difficult due to location of bar Desperate for toilet but someone was messing about in there and couldn’t gain access as very small Despite pre-paying booking, asked to provide credit card (not told what for) and was charged again which is still to be resolved as hotel and hotels.com each blaming each other and still waiting for assistance 3/4 days later

The TV remote didn't work and when i raised this they came back with new batteries and it still didn't work. The coffee machine didn't work properly, and there were coffee cups. There was also no kettle to boil water for the teas provided. The heating was not responsive and it was cold in the room. When this was raised they brought a small very loud portable electric heater. They did give us complimentary 'milk and cookies' which felt a little childish. The staff weren't rude, the room was quite quirky and the shower was good. It just didn't feel like value for money.

This was the most unique hotel experience. They left a beautiful note for us. The room was small, but we focused on the experience of it and how uniquely decorated it was. We really enjoyed our time there and even the halls were an experience to walk through. The lobby was just perfect with its fun decor.
