The staff were wonderful, nothing was too much for them and once I explained the first bedroom I had the first night was too small, as in the bathroom for a large gentleman like myself and the shower too small for me, they changed my room, I still struggled with a single bed, so I would ask for a double bed next time, also be aware, there is a none refundable policy in place, so if did want to cancel in plenty of time, you won't get any money back, just a thought, but again, staff were fantastic and very friendly

The building looks lovely from the outside, however there was some niggling problems, no staff to meet and greet or issue keys and rooms, just email instructions to use door key fob for access to the building and rooms, quite steep stairs especially for us who struggle with stairs, in my room, the toilet seat was loose to sit on, single bed wasn't very comfortable and duvet barely covered the bed

Great location for golf, only stayed one night but staff were efficient and super friendly. Bed not too comfortable but hotel fair for the price.

The property was in poor condition, it looks like a small restaurant that has been converted to be a b and b. The room was very small and the bed (although it was a double) was small as well. The toilet handle was hanging off and didn’t flush properly without a bit of effort. It looks like it hasn’t been redecorated in a long time and the tv in the room was no bigger than a shoe box. The staff member we met was very helpful and had a very good attitude, but I think he is fighting a loosing battle. It’s definitely not worth the £145 that we paid so I would look somewhere else!

The hotel was charming quaint and in a perfect location. The room was clean large and well stocked. It was a last minute decision to come to the coast of Scotland and it was a great decision.

A great place for a stay in North Berwick

The room was clean and welcoming and bright. It's furnishings were modern and new. There was a well stocked snack basket and the Tunnock's mallow on the pillow was a welcoming touch. The hotel is situated across the road from the beach and minutes away from shops and restaurants. I would gladly return for a stay in The Folly.

This is a little gem! Perfect location. So many thoughtful amenities! Love the wee fridge with fresh milk and butter! Cozy rooms with clean new bedding and soft blankets. Quiet and peaceful. View of the water and golf course. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Quiet and quirky

Delightful, quirky hotel. Easy self check-in. Might like more history of the place - i gather it was a fire station and the name folly and the owl connection. Always good to have stories.

This was an ideal small hotel with a great location and great service from the owners ie room made up each and complimentary buffet breakfast in the room also each day. Our room was quite small but everything was in place and very cleàn. An ideal location close to beaches within walking distance and plenty of on road parking close to the hotel. Would recommend tò friends and family.

It would be good if there were more places like that for people who simply need a decent room and shower for the night. It's a self-check in/out with a door code sent to your phone, but it does the job.

Hotel is in a convenient location to town center and beach front. Stayed in a family room which was quite cramped . Beds were comfortable and there is a breakfast assortment left for you which is a nice touch. Room needs painting
