"Chateau is beautiful and in a very peaceful spot. I would describe it as 'shabby chic' as there are areas where money could be spent. However it is lovely and features such as the sweeping staircase, chandelier's and furniture look gorgeous. Town is only 4 miles away with a range of restaurants. Continental breakfast was great and plentiful. Only met 1 member of staff at breakfast but she was lovely and gave us some of the history of the chateau. Another English couple were staying in Kings Room...

"This is a very stylish hotel in every respect. A beautiful building has been sympathetically converted into a small luxury hotel. Our room was very comfortable and the extras such as towelling dressing gowns and lovely soaps shampoos moisturiser etc. Dinner was the bistro menu and we could not have asked for a more delicious small menu, beautifully prepared and presented. Breakfast was outstanding too, including homemade jams and the best scrambled eggs I can remember! Our dogs were made welcome...

"Accommodation was really small and it felt like we were staying in an old garage. Bare walls, all windows frosted and crampt. No evening food available to us and no messages in advance to say that - we had to walk down a busy road for 30 minutes to get a pizza at a kiosk by a road junction. Breakfast limited and uninspiring. Looks so much better on their website than it does in person. "

Dog friendly and there is a great public open space on the other side of the road where dogs can be exercised. Unfortunately we could not use the restaurant because a wedding party was using it. "Value for money? Not at all. No restaurant at weekends. Bar staffed by receptionist. Poor choice of beers. You have to pay for the car park for no obvious reason. Corridor painted black. In the room, the only lightswitch was by the bed so coming in when it was dark was like pinning the tail on the donkey. It took 15 minutes to work out how to use the tv control. Another 15 minutes to work out the shower which had a dangerously slippery surface. Breakfast was way too expensive. That might cover it but there may be more."
