"This is a great place for the quintessential SoCal experience! It is right on the beach and provides easy walking access to bars, restaurants, and strolling/biking on the strand. We sat on the beach, walked to coffee shops, biked on the strand, and did lots of people watching. The staff was great and we really enjoyed our stay."

"If you are looking for a little of the Venice (in LA) vibe but would rather be in beautiful San Diego, the Beach Cottages is the place to go. Older property but well maintained and very clean this "right on the sand" option is for you. We stayed in one of the one bedroom cottages and it was just a great place to hang out. We walked to several good restaurants, and did spa treatments all within one block. The property does a great job of providing outdoor showers (to get rid of the sand), plenty of ice, a full kitchen, lots of clean towels, shampoo / conditioner / and body wash. They tell you no air conditioning but the breeze was so cooling we would not have used it even if available. Remember to bring your own beach towels and enjoy!"

"The hotel was beautiful and the location was fantastic. However, half the building is under construction and it begins at 7 AM on weekdays (equipment and supplies will start to be delivered earlier then that as well). we wanted the ocean view so we were at the front of the building so it was constantly loud. Of the 4 nights we stayed, 3 nights had weddings on the roof that went till 10, but that didn't stop the wedding party from continuing. If you're looking for something more relaxing this probably isn't the place but if you want to be right on the water and walkable to everything in La Jolla this is perfect!"
